Jobs, Taxes & Benefits

What's the Concern
| |
|
 |
Every
family needs jobs, not only for regular expenses, but also because
in the United States health benefits and pensions for retirement
are often tied directly to employment. |
|
- My husband and I have jobs, but neither of those jobs has health benefits and a pension plan.
- I have to take a job that has health benefits even if it is
the wrong work for me, because I need benefits for my family.
- When I retired, I had a good package of health benefits, but since then the company has been sold and the guarantees are gone. Every year a letter comes requiring bigger and bigger co-pays and fewer and fewer choices.
- They say the economy is doing better, because fewer people are doing the work of the ones they laid off. It is called productivity. I call it a jobless recovery.
- We have plenty of money in our family. I just don't want to
pay taxes to take care of other people. Everyone should keep his money and take care of himself.
- I say that my success (and I have a lot of it) is partly my talent, partly luck, and partly living in this country. Taxes are the way we even out the luck.
